General Rules

- Teams of 8 per side (squad can be any size).

- Maximum of 6 overs per side, six balls per over.

- No bowler may bowl more than two over.

- One over power play to be decided by the batting team. No fielder allowed behind the bowler during power play

• A captain is appointed in each team. The captain in consultation with team mates is responsible for field placements and order of batting.

• Each team has one innings. An innings is closed after 8 overs or all batters are out.

• Underarm bowling is allowed but any ball, which bounces more than once before reaching the wicket will be called ‘noball’ and 2 penalty runs awarded to the batting team. Ball will not be counted.

• Two penalty runs will be scored for any ball which passes beyond the batter’s reach (wide) or for any ball reaching the batter above waist height. In the final over where 6 fair balls have to bowled for the over to end.

• Immediately following a wide or noball is also a wide or noball that ball is pronounced ‘dead’ (ball is counted as an over) and 6 runs are added to the team score.

• Batters change ends at the end of each over.

• A single remaining batter may continue batting; changing ends as necessary to receive strike.
a. A partner must run with the remaining batter; the whole side is out when the solo batter is out or either player is run out.
b. A batter retires on 35 but the last scoring hit counts (i.e. if on 34 and score 4 on next hit the batter retires on 38).
c. A retired batter may resume their innings when only one batter remains.

• Bowl from one end only

• Batsmen is declared OUT if he hits a ball over the boundary line ( i.e a SIX )

• There is no LBW rule unless the batter deliberately blocks the ball with a leg or foot.

• Subs allowed on discretion of umpires for fielding.
An Over An over consists of 6 balls.
Wide Ball A ball that is too far from the batsman to strike will be called a “wide”.
NoBall If a ball, bowled, bounces more than once before reaching the batsman, or if it reaches the
batsman above shoulder height without bouncing, it will be called a “No Ball”.
